Growing Tasmania's Artistic Resource
Burnie Coastal Art Group is a community-based, not for profit organisation whose undertaking is to develop and nurture artistic pursuits and interest throughout our community. We do this by:
Promoting art in the community at large by presenting exhibitions and conducting competitions, workshops and art classes at our premises in Upper Burnie.
Mentoring artists resident in the north west of Tasmania by conducting regular painting, life drawing and other art classes and workshops aimed at increasing the quality and diversity of our artistic resources. Celebrated local and occasional guest artists provide the mentoring.
Showcasing Australian and Tasmanian artistic talent, in both Painting and Fine Arts by holding special exhibitions at Studio 2 Eleven and also TASART at the Burnie Regional Art Gallery.
Rewarding Artistic Excellence by organising and administering the Burnie City Council Tasmanian Art (TASART) awards each year during Burnie Shines.
